Bertucci named UK’s 1st Lee T. Todd, Jr. Student Innovation Scholar

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 24, 2022) — Lucas Bertucci, a University of Kentucky chemical engineering senior from Louisville, Kentucky, has been named the university’s first Lee T. Todd, Jr. Student Innovation Scholarship recipient. 

Students Selected To Receive Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants

Three UK students were selected to receive study abroad grants from Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. The grants are designed to support undergraduate students as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields of studying abroad. The recipients are: Rayleigh Deaton, a communication and political science major who studied at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England; Maryrose Ramsey, a chemical engineering major who studied in Italy; and

Three Wildcats Recognized By Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society

Hannah Cleary, Tori Vestal and Meredith Williams recently received scholarships from Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. The mission of the organization is to recognize academic excellence of first-year college students. Hannah, a 2022 agricultural and medical biotechnology graduate, was awarded the Dr. Margaret Berry Graduate Fellowship. She will use the funding to pursue a degree in Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

Western Kentucky tornadoes spur engineering undergrad research

UK to host undergrad research expo: Save the date and call for vendors

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 3, 2022) — Save the date for the second annual Research + Creative Experience Expo, to be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Sept. 12, 2022, at the Gatton Student Center Social Staircase. The event introduces undergraduates to the diversity of research conducted at UK, allows students to network with research faculty and staff, and learn about mentored research opportunities.

16 Wildcats Recognized By NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 14, 2022) — The University of Kentucky Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has announced that 10 students and recent graduates have been selected to receive government-funded National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowships. In addition, three UK doctoral students and three alumni received honorable mention recognition from the NSF. 

A&S grants to undergraduate researchers stimulate collaborations with faculty

Lily Vossekuil, Elizabeth Lorch and children working to improve their comprehension came together in the summer of 2021 to show how undergraduates and faculty can collaborate on research that benefits the Kentucky community.

Rivalry Aside, UK and UT Undergrads Study Hydroponic Lettuce

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 12, 2022) —The relationship between the University of Kentucky and the University of Tennessee is commonly seen as a sports rivalry, but not for some undergraduate agriculture students who put the competition aside this summer to jointly study how light affects hydroponic lettuce.
