I enjoy research because.... "it gives me the opportunity to learn so many things I never would have had the chance to in a traditional classroom."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"During the end of my freshman year, I talked to some older students who had been involved in research on campus. They had nothing but good things to say about their experiences, so the following semester, I decided to reach out to a few labs."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"Two years. "

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"The most exciting aspect of my research so far has been being able to collaborate with others within my lab. I have learned so much about the research process through them."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"My advice would be to go for it! I remember being so nervous about reaching out to potential mentors, but everyone I came across was very welcoming and helpful."
