I enjoy research because.... "I can delve into a variety of topics that interest me while adding to the existing base of knowledge."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I started my first small project in my freshman year WRD 112 course where I found that I loved studying human interaction. I specifically loved sorting through past research and then being able to go out into the world to collect and analyze my own data."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"I have been engaged in undergraduate research since my freshman year."

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"I have absolutely loved being able to talk with students about their life experiences in 2020 and how that has impacted their mental health. Having those conversations and then being able to take that data and connect it to our larger world is one of my favorite aspects of social science research."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"UK has a lot of resources to assist in planning and executing a research project. I would advise other students to look into these resources and ask their faculty advisor about other ways they can improve and fund their research."
