UK pre-vet senior finds, shares the joy in undergraduate research

Molly Lobel finds “joy and pride” in the research she does at the University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.  “It’s kind of like your baby,” said Lobel, who is a senior studying animal science on a pre-veterinary track.

REGISTER: Showcase of Undergraduate Scholars

This year’s 19th annual Showcase of Undergraduate Scholars is on Wednesday, April 30, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. in the Gatton Student Center Grand Ballroom. The Showcase is an opportunity for undergraduates to present their work through oral sessions, posters, artistic exhibits or performances. The event gives students from all disciplines a chance to engage in public outreach and polish their presentation skills. Peers, faculty and the local community are invited to come learn about the wide range of undergraduate research conducted at UK.

After UK, chemistry doctoral graduate pursues nanoparticle research at West Point

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Rosemary Calabro found her love of research as an undergrad examining nanoparticles in materials chemistry. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, she applied to many graduate schools searching for the perfect fit. That’s when she found professors Doo Young Kim and Dong-Sheng Yang at the University of Kentucky.  

2024 Oswald Research and Creativity Competition winners announced

Chad Risko, faculty director of the Office of Undergraduate Research, and research ambassadors celebrated the winners and presented the awards.
