This workshop will provide some tips and strategies on how to approach letters of recommendation. Selecting the right person to ask for a recommendation can be challenging. It's crucial to pick someone who is aware of your strengths and understands how they contribute to your qualifications as an applicant.

The University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) has selected 20 outstanding undergraduates for the 2026-27 Research Ambassador program. The program’s mission is to increase awareness and create opportunities for students to engage in research. Ambassadors must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and involvement in mentored research. This year’s ambassadors represent eight colleges, 14 disciplines and 15 research areas.

Who will advance to the finals? The Office of Undergraduate Research will host its 6th annual 5-Minute Fast Track Research Presentation Competition this fall. The 5-Minute Fast Track is an academic competition that cultivates students’ presentation and research communication skills, and challenges them to describe their research within five minutes.
