Senior, Computer Engineering Technology major

Research Mentor: Philip Lee - Pigman College of Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology

Supported by the Energy Research Priority Area

Project Title: "Fabricate and Analyze Dual-Junction CdTe Tandem Solar Photovoltaic Devices"

How will this summer research fellowship support your research efforts?

“This research fellowship will enable me to dive into the topics that I came to college for. These topics includes several chip manufacturing processes and the applications that goes with them. Much of my research relies on being able to manipulate these processes to provide a solution to modern problems. This includes the renewable energy field, engineering, and much more."

Why is research important?

“Research is important, because it allows us to work together as a whole to bring forth a future that is better for everyone. Every discovery that is made is just another step towards a more beneficial future for the generations to come."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

“Knowing your research topic off the top of your head will be very beneficial for any questions that are asked while you are presenting. Presenting can be hard socially, but being able to talk about the topic helps your confidence a lot more."
