ACTION Preps Kentucky High Schoolers for Cancer Careers Even Through the Pandemic

The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center’s Appalachian Career Training in Oncology (ACTION) Program takes up to 20 high school students every other year. ACTION’s two-year program provides students with research and clinical experience through both Markey and UK HealthCare, mentoring, professional development, and outreach opportunities in their own communities.

As part of the program, Santillan-Jimenez will complete a project at the University of Burgundy Franche-Comté in France.

The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board have named Eduardo Santillan-Jimenez at the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) a recipient of the Fulbright Specialist Program award.
