I enjoy research because.... "of the journey it takes one on. It is an often lengthy process, not linear in progress, and involves the collaboration of many for a common cause."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"In reading about the Learning Lab run through the Special Collections Research Center I became interested in the opportunity to work with archived collections."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"I have been working through the Learning Lab with my own research across this academic school year."

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"Being able to conduct my own project, from start to finish, has been incredibly fulfilling and it has even guided my postgraduate plans to be one focused in research."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"In any field research is always worth pursuing. It is an opportunity to get hands on experience of concepts and techniques taught in class, all while making impactful connections with professors and your peers!"
