Carrington Goidel

Senior, Social Work major

Research Mentor: Dr. Julie Cerel

I enjoy research because.... "you can take ideas and turn them into solutions."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I applied for an undergraduate fellowship through the College of Social Work and surprisingly, I was accepted!"

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"Since 2022"

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"Having the opportunity to learn the process of research has been an eye-opening experience within itself. I have learned a ton from my research and I look forward to see where it takes me!"

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"The process appears intimidating and tedious however, seeing the results of the research make the process worth it. Research allows you to take innovations and ultimately, create solutions."
