WELCOME WILDCATS!

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) team is excited about next week's Webinar for Researchers and upcoming events this month!

Because UK is an R1 institution, undergraduate research activities are celebrated and highlighted, and student research success is an important part of our research mission. The Office of Undergraduate Research supports undergraduate research endeavors across the university and promotes research as a high impact student experience to enhance readiness to succeed in future careers and foster student success.

OUR under restructuring

The central Office of Undergraduate Research is currently undergoing restructuring.  Please see the communication from Dr. Lisa Cassis, Vice President for Research on this process and the call for applicants for the newly created position of Faculty Director of Undergraduate Research.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

  • Student advising will now be conducted at the college-level and a list of college contacts for undergraduate research can be found at the bottom of the announcement webpage

  • Funding for Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships and Travel Grants now will be determined at the college level. Students interested in undergraduate research within their discipline should watch for announcements about the upcoming application process. The uncertainty placed on us all by the pandemic will also impact the timing and activities allowed in the near future.

  • We are still hosting the Virtual Showcase of Undergraduate Scholars from April 27-29, 2021

  • We are still hosting presentations, workshops, and webinars

  • We are still dedicated to providing coordination, leadership, and support for the many programs at the University of Kentucky designed to promote undergraduate research, scholarship, and creativity

  • We are still celebrating the achievements of UK's undergraduate researchers and the dedication of their UK mentors
