How will this summer research fellowship support your research efforts?
“This summer research fellowship supports my research efforts by allowing me to dedicate a substantial amount of my time to research without worrying about travel expenses and other everyday necessities. I believe it is extremely important to do research, yet many are not able due to issues with juggling school, a stable income, and research. This fellowship has given me the opportunity to manage all of these while not worrying as much about finances. Without this opportunity, I wouldn’t be able to dedicate as much time to this research and therefore would not have as good of an outcome for the project.”
Why is sustainability research important?
“Sustainability research is extremely important for many different reasons. It gives innovative solutions to everyday problems without compromising the health and wellness of our planet. Being sustainable allows humans to live comfortably while maintaining efficiency and being responsible. The more research that is being conducted towards sustainability, the more possible it is for humans and nature to coexist without negative impacts."
What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?
“My advice to other UK students who are thinking about doing research is to start now! It can seem intimidating at first, but the more you learn the more comfortable it gets. The outcome of looking at something that you contributed to is very worth it and so rewarding.”
