Students Encouraged to Attend Summer Research and Creative Experience Expo

The Summer Research and Creative Experience Expo gives students from all majors, backgrounds and skill levels the chance to learn about research and creative opportunities available both on- and off-campus, with particular focus on opportunities that are available this coming summer term. From noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, around the Gatton Student Center Social Staircase, students can discover the diversity of research and creative work conducted at UK, network with research faculty and staff, learn about mentored summer research and creative opportunities, and gather information on fellowship opportunities.

Writing a Research Proposal Workshop

Don't let an unpolished proposal hold you back from a research experience! Your research proposal is the heart of your application. This workshop will teach you the basics of writing a successful proposal. Start early so that you have time to incorporate faculty feedback.

Abstract Writing Workshop

Creating Posters + Presentations Workshop

This engaging and informative workshop is designed to assist students that are presenting their research either via poster or oral presentation format in the creative poster and presentation design process. Workshop includes handouts and worksheets.

Then be sure to join OUR's upcoming workshop, "How to Effectively Communicate Your Research," lead by UK Research Communications Director Alicia Gregory. Let our Undergraduate Research Ambassadors help walk you through the poster making process - emphasizing poster design principles, layouts/formats, understanding your audience, and evaluating a poster.
