Workshop: Letters of Recommendation 101: Who and How to Ask Co-hosted by Nationally Competitive Awards

Letters of recommendation are required for many internships, competitive awards, jobs, graduate school and professional programs.  This workshop will provide some tips and strategies on how to approach letters of recommendation. Selecting the right person to ask for a recommendation can be challenging. It's crucial to pick someone who is aware of your strengths and understands how they contribute to your qualifications as an applicant.

Sustainability Showcase + Poster Competition

The UK Sustainability Showcase will be held on October 14, 2026 at 5:30 pm in UK's Healthy Kentucky Research Building (HKRB) Atrium. The People's Choice Awards will be voted on during the Showcase event and announced at the awards ceremony, as well. Students will have the opportunity to present their posters during the UK Sustainability Showcase. This event is open to the public. Free parking available in the HKRB lot.

5-Minute Fast Track Research Competition - Preliminary Round

1 Slide. 5 Minutes. Outstanding research! Cheer on UK undergraduate research students as they share their trailblazing research and compete for cash prizes in the 5-Minute Fast Track Competition. Who will advance to the finals? The Office of Undergraduate Research will host its 6th annual 5-Minute Fast Track Research Presentation Competition this fall. The 5-Minute Fast Track is an academic competition that cultivates students’ presentation and research communication skills, and challenges them to describe their research within five minutes.
