The 5-Minute Fast Track is an academic research competition that cultivates students’ presentation and research communication skills and challenges them to describe their research within five minutes. Exciting oral research competition that represents the diversity of scholarly work at UK and awards cash prizes.

• Registration Opens: September 1, 2026 @ 12:01 am

  • IMPORTANT: Only 20 student registrations are available. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Registration Deadline: October 1, 2026

• Student Presentation Workshop: October 7, 2026 @ 5:00 pm; Funkhouser Rm 313

• Competition Slide Deadline: October 18, 2026 by 11:55 pm

• Preliminary Round: October 22, 2026; 5 - 8 PM in the Healthy Kentucky Research Building (HKRB) Atrium

• Final Round: October 28, 2026; 5 - 8 PM in the Healthy Kentucky Research Building (HKRB) Atrium
