Beckman Scholar Eligibility and Application Timeline
Thank you for your interest in the Beckman Scholars Program. Please review the information below regarding eligibility, timelines, and application materials.
REQUIRED CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS

Scholars must be full-time students and remain in good academic standing, intending to pursue an advanced science degree or other scientific pursuits.

Beckman Scholars must be citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients of the United States or its possessions.

Scholars will pursue their independent research project under the auspices of an approved full-time faculty Mentor, as identified in the application.

Must commit to the full 15-month continuous research program from May 2024 through August 2025

10-weeks during summer 2024 and summer 2025 at 40-hours per week

10-hours per week during fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters

Attend the Beckman Scholars Annual Conference in August 2024 and present in August 2025

November 8, 2023: Beckman Info Session at 5 p.m. via Zoom (Register here)

November 15, 2023: Application opens

February 1, 2024: Application deadline at 12:00 p.m. EST

March 25, 2024: Beckman Finalists notified

April 10, 2024: Beckman Scholars announced

May 2024: The Beckman Scholars Program begins
