University of Kentucky Undergrad Acquires Advanced Skills, Improved Confidence in the Lab

Growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, Kaitlyn Brock attended Frederick Douglass High School. Research opportunities were limited, as the school opened in 2017. Instead, Brock's earliest exposure to research came from her stepmom, who was a student at the University of Kentucky participating in biology research at the time. Now Brock, and one of her four younger siblings, both attend the University of Kentucky. In 2022, the University of Kentucky was named a Beckman Scholars Program Awardee.

10 students selected as 5-Minute Fast Track Research Competition finalists

LEXINGTON Ky. (Oct. 21, 2024) —The University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) announces the sixth annual 5-Minute Fast Track Research Competition finalists. These undergraduates competed in the competition’s preliminary round and were selected as Top 10 finalists to present their research during the final round, 5-7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in the Healthy Kentucky Research Building’s Seminar Room 150.
