How will this summer research fellowship support your research efforts?
“By participating in the CURE Fellowship, I can spend more time in my research lab this summer and less at my part-time job. This will give me plenty of time to work on completing the entire research process from defining a problem to presenting results. I am also excited to have the opportunity to learn more computational modeling techniques and network with other CURE fellows. These opportunities will help me perform research in medical school and beyond.”
Why is research important?
“Although research has solved many problems in the past, there is still so much to discover. In fact, it seems like the more we know, the more we realize how many questions have been left unanswered. By performing research, we can attempt to solve some of these problems to make a difference in the lives of others.”
What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?
“Go for it! I think the most important attributes in successful researchers are work ethic and resilience. Experiments fail and projects don’t always work as planned, but by continuing to put forth your best effort day after day, you will gain the most out of your experience.”
