I enjoy research because.... "I am challenged to apply what I have learned in the classroom to real experiments. What happens in the lab never goes exactly how you plan, so you have to expect the unexpected and think critically."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I was eager to get involved and build relationships with the UK faculty."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"Since my Sophomore year (about 2.5 years)"

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"The opportunity to work and think independently."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"Go for it! You will be surprised how much research will help you with your undergraduate courses."
