I enjoy research because.... "I feel like I am contributing to something larger than myself. I have learned so much about the field of education as well as gaining research skills, and I feel like this experience will make me a better educator in the future."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I wanted to get more involved in the field of education and learn skills that would help me as a future educator."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"I did one semester of research my freshman year with STEMCats, and I have been working with Dr. Fisher for 2 semesters now."

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"I have loved having the freedom to contribute my ideas to our project and help shape our study throughout the year."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"Research is such a great way to get more involved in your field. I have learned so much, both about research techniques like collecting and analyzing data as well as the field of education itself. It is an experience I would highly recommend!"
