I enjoy research because.... "it allows me to understand how the past impacts activism in the present day!"
How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?
"I was inspired to engage with undergraduate research through the Chellgren fellowship program."
How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?
"two years"
What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?
"Thomas Redd was an outspoken advocate for African American railroad workers during the early 20th. Throughout my research process, I have been inspired by Redd's willingness to ensure that marginalized employees were extended respect and equality."
What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?
"Research is a rewarding experience that will allow you to explore a subject or concept in great detail. I would encourage any UK student to explore participating in research, considering it will allow you to utilize analytical skills!"
