I enjoy research because.... "I get to work with my favorite animal: the honey bee!"
How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?
"My advisor is actually my research mentor. I knew I wanted to find ways to apply the scientific skills I was learning in classes to real research in the field."
How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?
"I have been with the Rittschof Lab since my second semester of freshman year in 2019."
What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?
"I have loved getting hands-on experience with the honey bees and learning about the process of publishing my research project."
What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?
"Get involved early! So many students don't realize how easy it is to get involved. Find an area of research that interests you and email those professors that are involved in that category of research!"
