20 students awarded CURE Fellowships

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 8, 2023) — The University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is honored to announce that 20 undergraduates have been selected for the 2023 Commonwealth Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) Fellowship program.

‘Your voice matters.’ UK junior creating change through education, advocacy

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 7, 2023)  What does it mean to be a changemaker? Kotomi Yokokura has been asking herself that very question for as long as she can remember. “Understanding the pain of those whose voices are overlooked ignited my need to advocate,” she said. “I knew I needed to utilize my voice to amplify their stories and create change.”

UK senior named prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholar

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 6, 2023)  Two University of Kentucky seniors — Kayli Bolton and Kayla Horne — interviewed this year for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, and Bolton was awarded one of only 23 Gates Cambridge Scholarships presented nationally to students hoping to pursue postgraduate study at the University of Cambridge in England.
