I enjoy research because.... "it gives you a space to be curious unapologetically. You can discover a whole world of new information using just a few resources."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"A professor asked me to be a research assistant for her, so I thought I would take a chance on the opportunity. Little did I know I would end up loving research!"

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"I have been involved since the summer before my sophomore year."

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"The opportunities to explore the different areas of research in my discipline is exciting. It is shocking to know just how many specialties there are out there."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"Take a risk and explore new areas. There is no harm in learning about topics that you might not think you will enjoy. You will likely be surprised with just how many specialties interest you."
