I enjoy research because.... "I enjoy research because of the wide variety of opportunities it may bring you. There are many different skill sets in the lab that can fit anybody's interests. You also are able to experience the science you learn about in class first hand."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I first became interested in undergraduate research at UK during my freshman year orientation! I always knew it was something I wanted to be involved in."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"Since the beginning of my sophomore year."

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"The most exciting aspect of my research so far was being able to present a poster at the Diabetes and Obesity Summer Research Fellows Program here at UK this summer."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"I would recommend research to anyone who is passionate about science. Research allows you to experience the power of science first hand, the amount of knowledge it brings cannot be found in any other experience. I would advise UK students to start as soon as possible and start learning basic lab skills."
