Senior, Neuroscience major, Biology and Spanish minors

Research Mentor: Dr. Rodgers

I enjoy research because.... "It's incredible to see the real-world applications of what I do in a test tube or petri dish."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I knew I was interested in research from the get go, so I joined a STEMCats research project as a Freshman, then sought a permanent research home during my sophomore year."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"Since Spring 2020"

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"When you finally get a protocol to work!"

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"Go for it! Faculty may seem intimidating, but they were undergraduates too and they understand you need to start somewhere. Ask questions, be willing to try new things, and you'll be great."
