Research Mentor: Dr. Luke Bradley

I enjoy research because.... "it allows me to delve into and learn more about topics I am passionate about."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I came into freshman year knowing I would like to engage in genetic research. With my career aspiration to be a Pediatric Geneticist, I knew undergraduate research would help me learn more about this field."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"I have been engaged in undergraduate research for three years."

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"The most exciting aspect of my research has been sharing our data sonification project with others. Introducing this concept to students has been wonderful, and I believe we have a very unique project!"

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"My main piece of advice is to find a lab and subject area that interest you. Research becomes fun when you love what you are studying. It is also very important to find a research mentor that is a good fit for you. Dr. Bradley has been my biggest supporter, and I would not be where I am today without his teaching and guidance."
