I enjoy research because.... "it challenges you to think outside the box and begin to identify solutions to nuanced ideas."

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I first began my interest in research after meeting my faculty mentor through Universities Fighting World Hunger. She encouraged me to begin research and it has been an amazing opportunity."

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"I have been engaged in research since September 2020"

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"The most exciting aspect of my research so far has been learning to code and dissect data in a way that provides insight to an overarching question."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"I would say that faculty across the entire campus are likely looking for help on research and it is an invaluable experience to have. The idea of research can be very daunting, but with the right guidance it is very fulfilling."
