I enjoy research because.... "I enjoy research because the process of converting well formulated hypotheses into conclusions supported by properly interpreted data requires hard work and brings me satisfaction."
How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?
"I became interested in research after taking Dr. Lou Hirsch's class "Genetics and Society." I wanted to explore the concepts of the central dogma in a hands on way."
How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?
"I have been in engaged in undergraduate research since the spring of my sophomore year."
What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?
"The most exciting aspect of my research so far has been presenting my findings last fall at the 5 Minute Fast Track."
What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?
"I think undergraduate research is the perfect way to solidify knowledge presented in lectures in an engaging way that can help students begin to think about the natural world around them through the lens of the scientific method."
