I enjoy research because.... "you get to explore the unknown!"

How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

"I was involved with a cancer research program in high school at the University of Chicago that connected me with Dr. Nathan Vanderford. From there he helped to get me connected with cancer researchers here at UK!"

How long have you been engaged in undergraduate research?

"Since Freshman year!"

What has been the most exciting aspect of your research so far?

"I love being able to ask a question and working to solve it! I've gotten the opportunity to learn so many different techniques and problem solving skills because of research."

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

"Do it! Research will open up the world to you and teach so many valuable lessons!"
