2025-26 Undergraduate Research Ambassador application now open

Applications are being accepted for University of Kentucky Undergraduate Research Ambassadors (URAs) for the 2025-26 school year. Organized by the UK Office of Undergraduate Research, the Ambassadors program is a volunteer opportunity for undergraduates who are passionate about promoting undergraduate research at UK and helping other undergraduates find their path.

13 UK undergraduates to present at Posters-at-the-Capitol

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 10, 2025)  — Thirteen University of Kentucky undergraduate researchers will present their work at the 23rd annual Posters-at-the-Capitol on March 6. The event will feature research topics including community health, agricultural sustainability, renewable energy and public health and safety.

5th annual expo offers research connections for UK undergrads

The University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) will host the fifth annual Research + Creative Experience Expo from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Gatton Student Center Social Staircase. The event introduces undergraduates to the diversity of research at UK, allowing students to network with research faculty and staff, and learn about mentored research opportunities.

After UK, chemistry doctoral graduate pursues nanoparticle research at West Point

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Rosemary Calabro found her love of research as an undergrad examining nanoparticles in materials chemistry. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, she applied to many graduate schools searching for the perfect fit. That’s when she found professors Doo Young Kim and Dong-Sheng Yang at the University of Kentucky.
