Research Mentor: Kendall Corbin

Supported by UK Sustainability Student Sust. Council

How will this summer research fellowship support your research efforts?

“The fellowship will support my research efforts through funding my project in identifying antibacterial properties from maize leaf microbes.”

Why is research important?

“Sustainability research is important to gain understanding and develop methods to maintain our planet through aspects such as health and environment. If we do not consider the future of human practices and how they will stay established long-term, we cannot expect to succeed in solving many of our continuous issues surrounding sustainability.”

What advice would you give to other UK students thinking about doing research?

“Go for it! It never hurts to reach out to those who are doing research in a field you’re interested in. If you never ask the question, you’ll never know the outcome.”
