"Fentanyl Social Renewal."

"The purpose of this project is to determine how social cues affect the renewal of fentanyl taking behavior after extinction. It is important because it contributes to the development of a preclinical model of post-rehabilitation relapse, a very serious epidemic."

A. "I love being part of a team and feeling like I am contributing something important to society."

Q. How did you first get interested in undergraduate research at UK?

A. "I knew research experience was required for my major so I sought it out of necessity, but once I began my time as a research assistant it was the pure interest in behavioral neuroscience and being a part of the research that went into it that held and grew my interest."

Q. What has been the most exciting aspect of your research experience so far?

A. "The most exciting aspect of my research so far has been working with and handling animals in behavioral testing. I have always loved animals and the hands-on experience I've gained has been a blast."

Q. How has undergraduate research impacted your college experience at the University of Kentucky?

A. "Since I began my time as a research assistant, I have felt more involved with the University and like I am finally taking advantage of some of the opportunities it has to offer. The hands-on experience also helps me better understand some content in the classroom."

Q. What advice would you give to UK students who are considering starting research?

A. "I would advise undergraduate UK students considering starting research to absolutely go for it and reach out to a faculty member in a research department that they are most interested in or passionate about. Research is all the more gratifying when it is in your area of interest."
